Essence of Christmas

However, it's believed that an English admiral first used the term Merry Christmas in an informal letter, way back in 1699. In the same era, the phrase was used in non-religious Christmas song 'We wish you a Merry Christmas', which is still popular today.
   
   Christmas is celebrated to remember the birth of of Jesus Christ, who Christians believe is the Son of God. The name 'Christmas' comes from the Mass of Christ (or Jesus). A Mass service (which is sometimes called Communion or Eucharist) is where Christians remember that Jesus died for us and then came back to life.

Giving gifts is meant to be a symbol of love and kindness and remembrance of the gift of eternal life made possible by the Savior.

Realization Hits Me

    This year is not about drastic changes for me. I just want to learn to be grateful for all I have — and to only allow my mind to dwell on the positive. – JoAnna Bennett    This year overall has been a wonderful learning experience. I would have to say that throughout all of my year in school, I have learned the most maths this school year. Even though we had a huge amount of new math topics to learn, it was a fun experience to be able to understand some of advises homework. For 10th grade, I think the most important aspect to share with them is that I won't work hard unless they tell me to.    This year we had many tough and challenging quizzes and test.
